Air — black and white photography by Bastien Pons
Air brings together black and white photographs of objects held above the ground: shirts hanging from a clothesline, overhead wires and clothespins on a line. These everyday details become studies of suspension, spacing and the empty space around them.
Diagonal lines cut across textured skies. Hanging forms create repeated shapes, while cables and architectural edges divide the frame. Grain, scratches and uneven tones give these open spaces a tactile presence.
Part of the Inploration collection, Air follows the relationship between ordinary objects and abstract composition. The photographs invite a closer look at what hangs, stretches or seems to float within the image.
